How to choose a floor lamp finish:
gold, silver or platinum?
The form catches your eye. The finish decides how it belongs in the room.

The same upper detail, in three finishes. Screen settings and the light in your room can affect how each finish appears.
Choosing a floor lamp finish is easier when you separate two decisions: the colour of the metal and the way its surface reflects light. A warm gold tone, a mirror-like silver surface and a brushed platinum finish can give the same object quite different roles in a room.
Choose a finish for your living room.
Look from the seat you use most. Which materials sit beside the future lamp: a pale oak table, dark walnut, honed stone, velvet, a polished mirror frame? Include the wall behind it. A finish is seen against those surfaces, rather than in isolation.
Decide what you want to add. A gold tone can continue the warmth of timber and cream upholstery. A polished silver finish introduces a clearer reflection. A brushed finish offers a softer metal surface when the room already has plenty of shine.
These are starting points, not fixed pairings. A cool metal can be a deliberate accent in a warm room. The useful question is whether the lamp should echo the surroundings or create a little contrast.

Gold, silver or platinum?
The Cascade Crystal Tower floor lamp has the same 61-inch form and individually set K9 optical crystal in each finish. What changes is the metal around the crystal.
A warm gold tone with a visible brushed texture. Consider it alongside walnut, warm stone, tobacco leather or ivory textiles when you want the metal to contribute warmth.
A smooth, mirror-like silver finish that picks up nearby light and colour. Consider it when you want a crisp reflection, whether beside cool materials or as an accent against warm wood.
A silver-grey tone with visible brushing and a more subdued reflection. Consider it beside textured fabrics, stone or dark furniture when you prefer a quieter metal surface around the crystal.
Champagne Gold, Polished Silver and Brushed Platinum are finish names. The tower’s structure is electroplated stainless steel.
Brushed vs. polished lighting finishes.
Colour alone does not tell the whole story. Compare the Polished Silver and Brushed Platinum details below: one shows a smooth reflection; the other reveals fine directional texture.

If your room already includes a mirrored table or glossy cabinetry, a brushed surface gives you another texture to work with. In a room of matte plaster and soft fabrics, a polished accent may be the detail you enjoy most.
The finish does not replace the lighting controls. Cascade’s integrated LED lets you adjust brightness and colour temperature by remote, so consider the metal with the lamp both off and illuminated.
Must a floor lamp match other metals?
No. It can share a tone with nearby hardware, but it does not need to match every handle, frame or table leg. Choose a relationship you can see from the main seating area.
For example, a Champagne Gold tower beside a walnut cabinet can continue a warm palette, while a Polished Silver tower in the same position makes the metal a contrasting accent. Brushed Platinum offers another direction if you want a silver-grey tone with less mirror-like reflection.
A finish photograph is a useful first filter. For a final decision, review it beside your actual material samples in daylight and under the lighting you use in the evening. A photograph on a bright screen cannot show every reflection.
A simple finish checklist.
- Choose the tone. Do you want the warmth of Champagne Gold or the silver-grey family of Polished Silver and Brushed Platinum?
- Choose the reflection. Look at the metal between the crystals. Do you prefer a polished surface or visible brushing?
- Check the setting. Compare the finish beside your upholstery and the wall where the tower will stand.
- Check the practical details. Cascade is a corded, plug-in floor lamp. Plan its position near a suitable wall outlet with the cord clear of walkways.

Finish questions.
Is a gold or silver floor lamp better for a living room?
Neither is universally better. Start with the materials around the lamp and the effect you want. Gold contributes a warm tone; silver can coordinate with cooler details or bring contrast to warm wood and textiles.
Are Polished Silver and Brushed Platinum the same finish?
No. Cascade’s Polished Silver has a mirror-like surface. Brushed Platinum has a textured, more subdued surface. Both surround the same K9 crystal composition.
Can I see the tower before choosing?
Private viewings are available by appointment in South Florida. The tower’s scale, crystal and changing reflections are best appreciated in person. Contact the studio to arrange a viewing.
